St. George bowler P.J. Redhouse bowled her first-ever 600 series last week, a 600 on the nose on games of 203, 201 and 196 during which she threw a total of 17 strikes.

With a career-high 540 series since first taking up the sport in the 2018-19 season, P.J. Redhouse found herself in unchartered territory in Dixie Queens League bowling at Dixie Bowl.

For starters, she began a memorable achievement with a four-bagger and six total strikes for a 203, and next rolled another four-bagger in a 196 game.

And doing the math, she knew it would take a 201 final game for a 600 series.

So, after a spare in the 9th frame and a 184 score in her third game, it became a nail-biter entering the 10th frame, when, at the minimum, she would need a spare and seven pins on her fill ball for a 201.

Well, seemingly unfazed by the pressure, that's exactly what she bowled for her first-ever 600 series, a 600 on the nose. And making it even more special is the fact that a teammate is her mom, Pearl Stucki.

A graduate of Snow Canyon High School, she's a big fan of the Pittsburg Steelers and pro bowlers Shannon O'Keefe and Danielle McEwen.

Away from her job, she enjoys bowling and hanging out with her daughter, and at the top of her bucket list is visiting London.

In other action, Sherri Snarr (635-226) finished atop the scoring food chain with a top-notch effort, and Ann Rasmussen (602) continued a red-hot scoring pace that included the week's high game, a 246.

Susan Hill (599) put together a first-rate performance which included 14 strikes, a clean 212 and only two opens, Meretta Johnson (579-222) merits ink for her best outing this season, Margie O'Neill (578-214) had her usual good week, and Luann Huchins (573-222) posted her best scores since her return to the lanes.

And sparked by a 220, Rebecca Mathews (553) lit up the scoring monitors, Cindi Wells (543-203) rarely gets ink, but doe for this nice effort, while Marcy Thompson (540-213) rebounded nicely from a minor scoring funk.

Meanwhile, Debbie Lehnen (519-203) made her return to the lanes with a solid showing, Annette Chugg (517) put up efficient numbers, and so did Pat Schulze (512).

Finally, Karen Chute, Dianna Swart and Pat McCabe logged scores of 509, 507 and 504, respectively.

The single game scene saw Shell Hurd pop a 229, Arline San Antonio roll a 212, Tanya Roe snare ink for her first ink for a 209, and Pat McLaughlin tossed a 206. Kara Kopf booked a 205, Colleen Bedford smacked a 202, and Sharon Dixon pocketed a 201.

In men's play, Dalton Smith (755-259, 253, 243) continued his blistering scoring pace of late, while lanes 1 & 2 at Dixie were the hottest pair around with a trio of 700s in Industrial League play.

First, Rod Post ran the front nine before finishing with a 279 and 737 series, Scott Ferreira (718-265) rolled 24 strikes in his 700 set, and John Potter fired 11 strikes in a 279 gem before finishing with a standout 713 series.

Gary Lee averaged 235 between SunRiver (732-267) and Early Birds (680-266) league play at Sunset Lanes, Matt Polatis (700-267) smoked Dixie with a top-note effort, and Tony Zaccheus averaged 211 between leagues at Dixie (641-267) and Sunset (629-246).

In single game action, Jorge Grajeda (636) threw strikes on the front nine before finishing with a 267 beaut, Cory Choate tossed a clean 245, Wayne Nunley captured his first ink for a 240, and Chris Demacedo tossed a 204.
