Young woman’s body found in Chambers County ditch, investigation ongoing

FIVE POINTS, Ala. (WRBL) – The body of a Wadley, Alabama woman was discovered over the weekend in a ditch along Chambers County Road 258.

On Sunday, February 11, Chambers County deputies were dispatched to the roadway in the Five Points community, about a body being spotted in a ditch by a pedestrian. Deputies located the body of 23-year-old Adilene Elizabeth Royston, a deceased white female. The body was transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science for autopsy.

Investigators tell WRBL there was evidence of possible drug use found at the scene. At this time, there is no evidence of foul play.  However, detectives are interested in speaking with the people Royston was with in the immediate hours before her death to see how she wound up in the ditch or if perhaps she was placed there after her death.
