Youngsville police make two arrests in connection to storage unit burglaries
YOUNGSVILLE, La. (KLFY) — Two people have been arrested in connection to burglaries at a Youngsville storage facility, according to the Youngsville Police Department.
YPD said they responded to several reports of burglaries that occurred at the Red Dot Storage in the 2700 block of Youngsville Highway on Jan. 2. Upon arrival, officers said they found that numerous storage units located inside Red Dot Storage facility had been burglarized.
Officials said within 48 hours of the incident, detectives with the Youngsville Police Department were able to develop suspects and obtain evidence linking suspects to the crimes. Javaughn Jean Baptiste, 31, and Emilee Walden, 26, have since been arrested and booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on the following charges:
Javaughn Jean Baptiste
18 counts of simple burglary
Emilee Walden
12 counts of simple burglary
YPD said they also currently have active warrants for two more suspects in connection with this crime and are identified as Wyatt James Curtis, and Lea Elizabeth Jackson White.
