Kick off your weekend with a free concert at Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation’s Sundown Sounds series at Ramsey Creek Beach on Friday.

Another spot to enjoy live music on Friday is the Live at 11 concert series at Ballantyne’s Backyard. Tickets are required, and proceeds help support Classroom Central.

Fork Fest kicks off Friday along the South Fork River in Cramerton. The Catawba Riverkeeper is hosting the two-day festival that includes a floating concert, food and family-friendly activities.

See cornhole players of all ages and skill levels compete in the 2023 ACL World Championships, which is taking place at the Rock Hill Sports Center through Sunday.

Broadway fans can see Richard Thomas in “To Kill A Mockingbird,” which is playing at Belk Theater through Sunday.

See local art, get in some retail therapy, and listen to live music at Rock Hill’s First Friday event at the Old Town Night Market. Several restaurants will have food and drink specials during the event.

Start your Saturday off by donating your time at the Community Matters Café. On the first Saturday of the month, volunteers can help pack bags of essentials such as food, socks, and hygiene products for those in need.

Enjoy a day filled with good eats, live music and activities at the Food + Brews Festival at the Bell Tower Green in Salisbury on Saturday.

There will be music, games, and other entertainment at the 7th Inning Stretch Festival in Uptown Shelby on Saturday. The event kicks off the 2023 American Legion World Series which starts Aug. 10 at Shelby High School’s Keeter Stadium.

Classic rock fans can check out Grand Funk Railroad at Village Park in Kannapolis on Saturday.

The Spectrum Center will be buzzing this weekend with the Big 3 basketball tournament on Saturday and Moneybagg Yo on Sunday.

Charlotte’s largest two amphitheaters will be busy this weekend, too. On Saturday, Jason Mraz will be at the Skyla Credit Union Amphitheatre, and on Sunday, Bret Michaels from Poison will bring his Parti Gras Tour with Night Ranger, Mark McGrath and others to PNC Music Pavilion.

Join Optimist Hall for its 4th birthday celebration on Sunday where you’ll find face painters, balloon twisters, a bubble station, a caricature artist, and live music.

Shop local from more than 70 small businesses and enjoy food trucks and live music at the Front Porch Sundays popup market at Atherton Mill in South End.

Play or watch pickleball for a good cause on Sunday at the Pickleball for Peace fundraiser at the Levine Center for Wellness and Recreation. Proceeds will benefit the Stan Greenspon Holocaust and Social Justice Education Center.
