Explore Charlotte’s past at the Trail of History Festival on Saturday at Midtown Park. The festival will feature music and art demonstrations, talks by local historians and museum interpreters, and tours of the statues along the Little Sugar Creek Greenway.

Each year, events are held to commemorate the Mecklenburg Declaration on May 20, which has also become known as MeckDec Day. On Friday, the annual commemoration ceremony at noon will take place at the intersection of Trade and Tryon Streets in Uptown, and on Saturday, the Charlotte Museum of History will host a celebration.

South End’s main street, Camden Road, will be transformed into an outdoor living room on Sunday during Camden Commons, which features games and music.

Have a good time for a good cause at the 18th annual Festa Italiana gourmet food and wine festival at Gateway Village Promenade on Sunday. Proceeds will help support Nevins, which provides care to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
