A transportation fight breaks out in Congress, but not the kind you’d think. President Joe Biden makes his audience uncomfortable by whispering into his microphone and appearing to forget about a building collapse in Florida during a press conference. John McAfee kills himself after telling the world multiple times he would not kill himself, and Dave Portnoy is called a "little b****."

Here are the quotes of the week:

“Whatever issues we have with the Chinese, we speak to them behind closed doors. China has been one of the greatest friends to us in our most difficult times. When we were really struggling, our economy was struggling, China came to our rescue, so we respect the way they are. ... Am I going to start talking about everything? I concentrate on what is happening on my border, in my country.”
- Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan to Axios reporter Jonathan Swan on the Chinese government’s genocide of Muslim Uyghurs. In the question before, Khan detailed an open letter he wrote calling on Muslim states to unite against Islamophobia in the West.

“I think the people who are running the place are still working on that, and I’m sorry it hasn’t happened yet ... It’s a long tradition in Rhode Island, and there are many of them, and I think we need to work our way through the issues.”
- Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, a Rhode Island Democrat, when asked about his membership at an allegedly all-white, exclusive beach club in his state.

“I know that we had one night of rioting in the district in the summer ... I can speak for the Metropolitan Police Department, and we do not permit any riotous behavior no matter who is conducting it.”
- Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser testifying before the Senate, describing riots in the district in the summer of 2020.

“After months of ignoring the crisis at the Southern Border, it is great that we got Kamala Harris to finally go and see the tremendous destruction and death that they’ve created — a direct result of Biden ending my very tough but fair Border policies. Harris and Biden were given the strongest Border in American history. And now, it is by far the worst in American history. If Governor Abbott and I weren’t going there next week, she never would have gone.”
- Former President Donald Trump on Vice President Kamala Harris’s decision to visit the border after months of Republicans calling on her to do so.

“I am content in here. I have friends. The food is good. All is well. Know that if I hang myself, a la Epstein, it will be no fault of mine.”
- Computer software magnate John McAfee in a tweet from October 2020. McAfee died by suicide in a Spanish jail Wednesday. He was set to be extradited to the United States on tax-related charges.

“It’s a man competing as a woman. That’s unfair.”
- NFL legend Brett Favre on his podcast discussing New Zealand athlete Laurel Hubbard, who is transgender, being allowed to compete in the women’s division at Olympic weightlifting events.

“I want to understand white rage — and I’m white.”
- Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Gen. Mark Milley testifying before Congress about the West Point reading list containing books about critical race theory.

“I would request that my colleague, Sen. Cruz, not mistake what I’m saying, and, you know what, all this mansplaining — please stop.”
- Sen. Mazie Hirono, a Hawaii Democrat, during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing.

“I’m very proud you have a gabble, but, a point of personal privilege, Sen. Hirono, just said I mischaracterized something she said, so I am asking her what was mischaracterized. You are welcome to explain what was mischaracterized.
- Sen. Ted Cruz, a Texas Republican, speaking at the same hearing after Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Sen. Dick Durbin, an Illinois Democrat, tried to recognize another senator by hitting his gabble, trying to get Cruz to stop speaking.

“I would like to get married and have a baby, but this so-called team won't let me go to the doctor to take [my IUD] out because they don't want me to have children.”
- Pop star Britney Spears at a hearing on the conservatorship that controls her money and many personal decisions. Spears has been fighting for years to be released from the conservatorship.

“Those who say, ‘The Blood of Patriots,’ you know, and all the stuff about how we’re gonna have to move against the government ... if you think you need to have weapons to take on the government, you need F-15s and maybe some nuclear weapons.”
- Biden at a press conference discussing potential new gun regulations with Attorney General Merrick Garland.

“#FreeBritney”
- Sen. Ted Cruz on Twitter. The Texas Republican appeared to endorse releasing Britney Spears from her conservatorship.

“Our constituents expect us not to compromise in our defense of the unborn. To support legislation like [H.R.] 239 which promotes the killing of the unborn at taxpayers’ expense is the ultimate betrayal.”
- Rep. Matt Rosendale, a Montana Republican, in a speech on the House floor. Rosendale condemned H.R. 239, the Equal Access to Contraception for Veterans Act, which would fund contraceptive coverage, including abortifacient drugs, for veterans.

“I got them $1.9 trillion in relief so far. They’re going to be getting checks in the mail that are consequential. ... I wrote the bill on the environment. ... Pay them more. This is an employees’ bargaining chip now. What’s happening?”
- Biden at a press conference discussing his deal with Republicans on a bipartisan infrastructure package. The entirety of the quote, made of fragments from different answers that the president gave, was whispered. Townhall cut a video of the times Biden whispered in the conference.

“Try to cut out the peg leg.”
- Sen. Kyrsten Sinema to reporters while she and Sen. Mitt Romney were leaving the Capitol. The Arizona Democrat broke her foot while running a marathon June 14, so she has been hobbling around Congress the past couple of weeks.

“Would you step up for these people, Dave, and try to help them now? You’re being a little b****!”
- Fox Business host Charles Payne in a heated interview with Barstool Sports President Dave Portnoy. Payne criticized Portnoy for selling his meme stocks too early.

“Oh, yes, I apologize, yes, thank you, Madame Vice President.”
- Biden having to be reminded to talk about the building collapse in Florida by Vice President Kamala Harris during his infrastructure press conference.

“It’s awful, as well, hard to get Latinx vaccinated as well. Why? They’re worried that they’ll be vaccinated and deported.”
- Biden in a speech about vaccination. He also mispronounced Latinx.

“Scootin’ past the press corps like…”
- Sen. Tim Scott, a South Carolina Republican, on Twitter. It was accompanied by a video of him riding on an electric scooter.

“We’ll take you on any track, any time.”
- Rep. Blake Moore, a Utah Republican, in response to Scott’s tweet. He posted a picture of him and his two children on a moped.

"Most Republicans could not have known that. There's no way. You look like a f****** idiot now."
- Sen. Lindsey Graham, a South Carolina Republican, to the Politico Playbook, commenting on Biden's decision to link the bipartisan infrastructure deal to a larger bill Democrats hope to pass through budget reconciliation. Republicans did not know about the strategy, he said.
