Youth basketball registration now open

Nov. 8—LENOIR — Registration for the city of Lenoir youth basketball league is open now through Friday, Nov. 18. The league is open to boys and girls, ages 4 to 13.

Practice for the league will be in December, and games will be played in January and February.

There are seven different age divisions in the youth basketball league: 4 Year Old Co-Ed, 5-6 Year Old Co-Ed, 7-8 Year Old Co-Ed, 9-10 Year Old Boys, 9-10 Year Old Girls, 11-13 Year Old Boys, and 11-13 Year Old Girls. Players must turn age 4 on or before Nov. 18 and cannot turn age 14 before Aug. 31, 2022.

The 4- to 8-year-olds will play at Mulberry Recreation Center. The 9- to 13-year-olds will play games at Mulberry and the Martin Luther King Jr. Center.

The cost to play is $25 for city residents and $50 for non-city residents. Bring completed registration forms and the entry fees to Mulberry Recreation Center, 720 Mulberry St. SW, Lenoir. Parents should bring a copy of the player's birth certificate or email a copy to Athletic Director Katelin Cooke Harmon at kcooke@ci.lenoir.nc.us.
