Out Youth Offers Assistance For LGBTQIA+ Community Amid COVID-19

AUSTIN, TX — As COVID-19 cases surge, communities across the country continue feeling the reach and impact of the highly contagious disease. Austin is one of many cities in the U.S. grappling with COVID-19, and as a result organizations and community partners across the community are offering assistance to those disproportionately affected by the pandemic, namely minority and marginalized communities in our city.

For it's part, Out Youth and the Transgender Wellness Program is reaching out to the LGBTQIA+ community to offer assistance through the Queer and Trans Community Closet to receive needed items including:

  • HEB GIft Card: Submit this simple application to qualify: ENGLISH or SPANISH

  • Cap Metro Bus Pass

  • Groceries

  • Hygiene Items: Learn more about our hygiene closet here

  • Art and Activity Kits

  • Select Gender Affirming Items

  • Face Coverings

Throughout the month of July, the closet will a "curbside pickup" model to protect the health and wellness of staff and the community. Those interested in assistance may request items and a window for pickup by completing the following form:
