Youth soccer league kick's off registration

DEMING – The Deming Youth Soccer League is anticipating a brisk registration period, following an abbreviated spring and fall seasons due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic has affected youth recreation leagues and players, coaches, officials, and parents are anxious to get back into the routine of youth soccer in Deming.

The DYSL plans to provide youth an opportunity to have fun. The league can accomplish this by following the mission statement, “To provide the youth of Deming with a safe and healthy environment for developing and enhancing their skills in the game of soccer.”

Online registration is open through July 23, 2022. Late registration will close on August 1, 2022. If you are new to the DYSL registration system, you will need to create an account. The registration link is https://clubs.bluesombrero.com/demingyouthsoccer.

A birth certificate will have to be uploaded for each player. The link and updated information are also posted on Deming Youth Soccer League Facebook page.

DYSL is affiliated with New Mexico Youth Soccer Association/U.S. Soccer.

Age divisions are U4, U6, U8, U10, U12, and U14 (U means under and the number represents the age). Age divisions are created based on number of participants.

Registration fees are as follows: U4, $60; U6 and U8, $70; U10 and up, $80. This includes registration fees with New Mexico Youth Soccer Association, which is affiliated with U.S. Soccer; a uniform; either a medal or trophy; cost of upkeep for field/equipment; referee cost, and general cost.

Discounts for Medicaid are available.

Practice will start on August 15. The season will run from September to November 5, 2022.

Match schedules are based on the Deming Public Schools’ schedule, so there will be several Saturdays we may not have matches. Playoff matches for the older age divisions will occur toward the last part of October/November, with playoff matches occurring during the week as well as on Saturdays.

Championship matches will occur on the last Saturday of the season with all teams encouraged to have a cookout on the sidelines.
