Watch YouTube stars listen to Phil Collins’ 1981 hit for the first time: ‘He killed it’

Think back, long ago, to the time you first heard Phil Collins’ “In the Air Tonight.”

A powerful, chills-inducing moment, no?

Two young YouTube stars have rediscovered this 1981 classic, and it’s bringing them the feels.

Twin brothers Tim and Fred Williams posted a July 27 video on their popular “First Time Hearing” video series and the look on their faces is priceless.

The 21-year-olds from Gary, Indiana, listen calmly, almost politely, as the song begins, in Collins’ signature raspy voice.

But when the pop icon’s famous drum solo dramatically arrives, the guys snap to attention.

“That was cool how he did that,” Fred says of the Miami-based rocker. “I ain’t never seen somebody drum a beat three minutes in a song.”

Tim agrees and calls the track, rumored to be about Collins’ bitter divorce, “a straight banger.”

“He killed it,” they both say, almost in unison, nodding.

That means the former Genesis frontman is totally awesome, for all you old folks.
