Cooking up lessons for the hearing impaired

to share her love of cooking

with others who have hearing loss

(SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) AMAN AL-ASHI'S MOTHER, BASIMA AL-ZOUBI, SAYING:

"Ever since Aman was young, six or seven years old maybe, she used to go with me to the kitchen, she enjoyed chopping things up and helping me cook. So I encouraged her to help me and the harder the meal was, the happier she'd be."

Now 21-years-old

Aman runs a YouTube channel

with instructions in sign language and captions

and has opened a small catering service

"I opened the kitchen and now I am so happy with this. In the future, I will use this kitchen to hold special courses for the hearing impaired where they can get certificates that qualify them for work."
