Yuba County primary election: Here’s the measures and candidates on the ballot

(FOX40.COM) –Registered voters in Yuba County will soon have the option to decide on measures and candidates they believe will be beneficial on a local, state, and national level.

The California primary election is on March 5 and here is what will appear on the ballot in Yuba County:

Marysville Joint Unified School District, Measure S (Safety, Renovation, and Construction Measure)

Measure S allows the construction of a new middle school to reduce student overcrowding, replace temporary portables, upgrade P.E. and arts facilities, renovate/repair classrooms, restrooms and roofs, and improve school safety, shall the Marysville Joint Unified
School District measure authorizing $97,000,000 in bonds, according to the full text of the bond proposition.

Wheatland Union High School District, California, Measure T, (School Facility Improvement Bond Measure)

Measure T would allow the construction of a new high school for Plumas Lake students, construct classrooms, restrooms and other necessary high school facilities, authorizing
$20,000,000 of bonds at legal interest rates.

Wheatland Union High School District, California, Measure U, (Safety and Security Bond Measure)

A “yes” vote supports authorizing the district to issue $8.7 million bonds at rates of approximately $28 per $100,000 assessed value to improve the quality of Wheatland High, according to Ballotpedia.

A “no” vote opposes authorizing the district to issue $8.7 million bonds at rates of approximately $28 per $100,000 assessed value to improve the quality of Wheatland High.

Plumas Lake Elementary School District, California, Measure V (School Facilities Bond Measure)

A “yes” vote supports authorizing the district to issue $18 million bonds, levying approximately $30 per $100,000 assessed value to fund construction and improvements of classrooms, bathrooms, and other essential school facilities, according to ballotpedia.

Proposition 1

California Proposition 1 is known as the Behavioral Health Services Program and Bond Measure. According to the Associated Press, Proposition 1 (Prop 1) changes how counties pay for mental health services. It would “allow the state to borrow $6.38 billion for 11,150 new treatment beds, housing and 26,700 outpatient treatment slots to serve up to 100,000 people a year.”
