Yuck! Twitter Reacts To Capri Sun Recalling Products Over Cleaning Solution Contamination

Kraft Heinz, the North American distributor of Capri Sun, has announced a “voluntary recall” of approximately 5,760 juice packs due to contamination.

The company announced the recall this past Friday, revealing that the contamination is the result of a cleaning solution, which is used on processing equipment, being “inadvertently introduced into a production line.”

“The issue was discovered after we received several consumer complaints about the taste of the affected product. The Company is actively working with retail partners and distributors to remove potentially impacted product from circulation,” the Kraft Heinz announcement reads.

It’s important to note that only Wild Cherry-flavored Capri Suns with a “Best When Used By” date of June 25, 2023, were affected.

As the matter relates to food being contaminated with cleaning solution, word of the Capri Sun recall began spreading like wildfire online.

While most tweets appeared to be focused on people spreading the word and expressing their disbelief, a few Twitter users took the opportunity to spread a few laughs.

Check out some of these humorous tweets down below.

One user unearthed an old clip to highlight the supposed effects that come from drinking the contaminated juice.

The company’s approach to the recall was also dubbed “a missed marketing opportunity.”

Another person referred to the situation as a “Capri Sun x Fabuloso collab.”

Lysol also got a shoutout, as the company’s refusal to provide specifics about the “diluted cleaning solution” lead Twitter users to fill in the blanks.

A couple of commenters also dragged Windex into the conversation.

Of course, bleach — and Donald Trump’s approach to combating COVID-19 — came up, too.

Finally, there were a couple of others who shared that they had coincidentally just had their first Capri Sun in a fat minute, adding a bit of ironic humor into the mixture.
