Yuengling is opening a new restaurant at its Tampa brewery

Fans of Yuengling beer, rejoice: The Yuengling Draft Haus & Kitchen opens in Tampa on Thursday.

D.G. Yuengling & Son, Inc. announced the completion of the years-long project to open the draft house and restaurant on the same property as its brewery — the only brewery location outside of the one in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, where the company is based.

The 42,000-square-foot building sits in front of the brewery in Tampa at 11109 30th St. N. It’s situated within miles of Busch Gardens, the University of South Florida and Moffitt Cancer Center.

The project was announced in 2019 and a groundbreaking happened in 2020.

The spot will feature a menu that is paired with Yuengling beers, private dining and meeting room space, an outdoor recreation area and beer garden, a gift shop and a soon-to-open coffee bar.

Upon opening, there will be indoor seating for 300 and outdoor seating for 200. Full capacity seating will eventually reach 800 (300 indoor and 500 outdoor) in the coming months. There are plans for the Yuengling Bistro Kitchen, an outdoor concession that features picnic seating for 300 people. There will be a total of five bars and 88 tap handles when completed.

According to a news release, the “chef-inspired menu includes locally grown ingredients and combines both Pennsylvania and Florida culinary influences. Featuring a modern take on traditional cuisine, many food items showcase Yuengling’s beer portfolio as ingredients.”

The beer lineup from “America’s Oldest Brewery” includes the flagship Traditional Lager, Light Lager, Golden Pilsner, Black & Tan, as well as the upscale light brand, FLIGHT by Yuengling. More beers include Yuengling Premium Beer, the heritage brands Dark Brewed Porter and Lord Chesterfield Ale, Bongo Fizz and seasonal selections like Oktoberfest and Yuengling Hershey’s Chocolate Porter.

According to the release, “Yuengling Brewing Company of Tampa has been a proud member of the Tampa Bay community since its purchase of the Stroh’s Brewery in 1999. This is the brewery’s first venture in creating a dining and entertainment destination.”
