Yukon Public Schools cancels class Monday after threat to high school.

Yukon Public Schools announced it would close Monday "out of an abundance of caution" concerning a possible threat.

All classes, activities and practices in Yukon Public Schools were canceled and will be rescheduled at a later date if possible, district officials wrote in the statement.

School officials said a student was identified and apprehended in connection with the possible threat.

“The student never made a direct threat towards the school,” Kayla Agnitsch, public information officer for Yukon Public Schools, said Monday afternoon. “The school cancellation was made out of an abundance of caution because there was a threat that could have been made.”

Agnitsch also said Oklahoma City and Yukon police officers worked together to find and apprehend a high school student in connection with the threat.All classes and activities will resume Tuesday, but Agnitsch said school campus resource officers will be on high alert.
