The Denver Broncos are expected to hire former Milford High School standout Zach Strief as their new offensive line coach, according to a report Monday via Twitter from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Strief, who played all 12 of his National Football League seasons for the New Orleans Saints before retiring after the 2017 season and joining the Saints' radio broadcast team, has spent the past two seasons working as New Orleans' assistant offensive line coach.

Strief is under contract with the Saints, but they wouldn't be able to block his departure if it's a promotion.

The Broncos introduced Sean Payton as their new head coach on Monday. Strief's rookie season was Payton's first as the Saints' head coach, and Payton was New Orleans' head coach for all but one of Strief's seasons with the team - the 2012 season during which Payton was suspended because of the bounty scandal.

Strief was drafted by the Saints in the seventh round in 2006 out of Northwestern. He won a Super Bowl ring at the end of the 2009 season and was a 2013 Pro Bowl alternate.
