Zeeland Public Schools hires Jeff Roon as next Lincoln Elementary principal

ZEELAND — Zeeland Public Schools has announced the next principal of Lincoln Elementary School. The district has hired Jeff Roon to take over the top spot in the building.

Roon has worked in education for more than a decade, most recently as the principal of Hamilton’s Blue Star Elementary, a role he took in 2019.

Prior to Blue Star, Roon was principal at Sandyview Elementary in Hamilton. He has also held positions as a special education teacher, coach and preschool director.

“I am excited to be joining the ZPS team,” Roon stated. “My family and I have lived in Zeeland for over ten years and love all that the community has to offer. Lincoln Elementary has provided so much to our own family already, and I am eager to meet all the students, staff, and families.”

“Jeff’s relational personality and ability to connect with students, staff, and the community will encourage growth and engagement to enhance the thriving programs already in place at Lincoln,” stated ZPS Superintendent Brandi-Lyn Mendham.

Roon will begin his role July 1.
