Zeeland West hires Bryce Muller as varsity baseball coach
Bryce Muller has been hired as the Zeeland West varsity boys baseball coach.
A familiar face, Muller has been on the baseball staff as both junior varsity and freshman coach under varsity head coach Adam Locker, who stepped down after the spring season.
“It's pretty special (to be hired as varsity coach),” Muller said. "I am honored to have support from the Zeeland West staff and community, their belief in my vision for this program means a lot to me. Throughout my coaching career, Zeeland West has always felt like a second family to me and my wife. Having been a part of this program for five years now I have been able to build relationships with many families and players, these relationships were a driving force in my decision to pursue the varsity coaching position. After meeting with Jordan Bandstra, it was clear to me that stepping into this role would allow me to not only build a great baseball program but also have a large impact on student athletes' high school experience.”
Muller grew up in Byron Center and was part of the team’s conference and district title in 2015. He then attended Grand Valley State and earned a Sports Management degree in 2020.

Coach Muller and his wife Haylee reside in Grandville. He currently works at Grand Valley State University as a Coordinator in their Campus Recreation department and is a football (MHSAA, NCAA DII) and basketball (MHSAA) official.
“Coach Muller impressed the committee with his knowledge of the game, vision for excellence, and his focus on relationships,” Zeeland West Athletic Director Jordan Bandstra said. “He was articulate about his passion for player development on and off the field and his desire to lead by example. We are fortunate to have him as part of our program.”
