Zelensky instructed Danilov to deal with the blocking of the website Strana

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded to the petition to block the pro-Russian website strana.ua and instructed the Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council Oleksiy Danilov to deal with this issue.

Details: The President noted that NSDC sanctions have been applied to the resources mentioned in the petition. In addition, the Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council provides for the organisation of work and the implementation of decisions of the NSDC.

Therefore, the petition was sent to the Secretary of the NSDC Oleksiy Danilov with a request to "consider" and "take the necessary response measures."

In addition, the head of the Department of Public Relations, Colonel Bohdan Senyk, said that Strana.ua did not receive accreditation from the Department of Public Relations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Quote from Senyk: "Since February, this publication has not received any accreditation from the Armed Forces of Ukraine. How the representatives of this publication got to Kherson, if this in fact happened, which I am not sure about, special services should be established."

The National Police assumed that Strana.ua employees could enter Kherson as ordinary citizens and not as journalists.

On 28 September, 2022, citizen R.O. Balan initiated the petition "Ensure proper blocking and complete termination of cooperation of state authorities with the pro-Russian publication strana.ua".

It is reported that personal economic and other sanctions have already been applied twice to the entities mentioned in the petition.

In particular, numerous sanctions for a period of three years were applied to individuals: Huzhva Ihor, Solntseva Hanna, Lukashina Liubov and legal entities: limited liability companies Lasmak, Madzheri, Smart Media Network.

Also, on 30 December 2021, the National Security and Defence Council made a decision to block access by internet providers to web resources/services located on the strana.ua, strana.news, strana.one, strana.digital, strana.today, and other domains and subdomains web resources/services that provide access to the Strana.ua portal, a web resource/service that is similar (identical) in terms of content, as well as restriction by electronic service providers (social network services) of access from the territory of Ukraine to content posted on web pages/ in the channels Facebook.com/gazetastranaua, @strana.ua, vk.com/stranaua, ok.ru/stranaua.
