Zelenskyy arrives in Norway on unannounced visit, after stops in Argentina and the USA

After high profile stops in Washington, DC and Argentina, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy mad an unannounced visit to the Norwegian capital of Oslo on Dec. 13, the Norwegian government announced.

Norway’s parliament, the Storing, announced that Zelenskyy would make a speech and meet with parliament speaker Masud Garahkhani.

“It is a great honor to host Zelenskyy at the parliament. This shows the seriousness of the situation and shows that we are united in our shared democratic values. We must constantly pay attention to the war in Ukraine, even though it has now dragged on,” Garahkhtani wrote on X (Twitter).

Zelenskyy will also meet with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Har Stere to speak about further support for Kyiv, as well as King Harald V. He will also attend the second Ukraine-Northern Europe Summit, where he will meet with the leaders of Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and Iceland.

Zelenskyy attended the inauguration of Argentina’s new president Javier Milei on Dec. 10. He arrived in the U.S. the next day to speak to American senators, meet with new House of Representatives Speaker Mike Johnson, and meet with U.S. President Joe Biden.

Washington announced that it would deliver $200 million of previously allocated military aid to Kyiv. This will be the final package unless Congress passes additional funding.
