Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed Ukraine's defense needs and the possibility of joint arms production with Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, during his visit to Albania on Feb. 28, Zelenskyy reported on Telegram.

Zelenskyy thanked Albania for its defense assistance and the decision to allocate a new tranche of military support, including equipment and ammunition.

He also discussed a bilateral agreement on security guarantees with Rama, who is ready to participate in the future Global Peace Summit in Switzerland, Zelenskyy’s Presidential Office reported.

Ukraine and Albania signed a friendship and cooperation agreement during the meeting that will strengthen ties between the two countries. The document will help develop cooperation and bolster Ukraine's standing in the Balkan region, Zelenskyy said.

The agreement sees cooperation between Ukraine and Albania in trade, economics, science and technology, culture, education, healthcare, media, tourism, and sports, the Presidential Office said.

Zelenskyy visited Saudi Arabia before his arrival in Tirana, where he held talks with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
