Details: The President has pointed out that the energy system is a constant item on the agenda at both governmental level and the meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s office.

Zelenskyy held not only a meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief on Wednesday, but also a meeting regarding stabilisation of the energy system and protection of Ukrainian power plants.

Quote: "We are constantly increasing the generation and supply of electricity - we are adding more volume almost every day. But we should not forget - and everyone should not forget - that it is now impossible to restore 100% of the energy system as it was before the beginning of the Russian energy terror. We need time. That is why shutdown schedules remain in most cities and districts.

As of this evening, the biggest number of shutdowns is in Kyiv and the region, Lviv region, Zhytomyr region, Khmelnytskyi region, Poltava region, Vinnytsia region and Zakarpattia."

Details: The President has expressed his gratitude to the energy specialists, repair workers, business owners, employees of communal services and local government who do everything possible to alleviate the situation for people.

Background: Russia has been attacking energy facilities in Ukraine since 11 September, and there have been eight large-scale missile attacks on the energy system since 10 October. The latest large-scale missile attack on 5 December shook it even more, and energy specialists had to implement new emergency power shutdowns throughout Ukraine.
