For the first time in almost two years, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a closed door meeting with his Servant of the People party MPs, three sources in the party told NV.

The meeting was originally slated for late 2022, but was not possible to be held before Feb. 21, the sources said.

The one-hour meeting kicked off a speech from Zelenskyy, which was followed by a one-hour Q&A session with his deputies. Party leader Davyd Arakhamiya moderated the session in which MPs had to submit their issues in advance.

Among the first issues raised was that of MPs’ travel abroad, sources told NV.

"The situation will not change, as the deputies are not using it for its intended purpose," Zelenskyy told the MPs, the source reported.

"Not much ‘specific information’ came from the President, since a large number of people were present, so the party was afraid of ‘information leaks’,” the MP added.

There was no better way for Arakhamia to ensure "issues moderation,” another source noted.

"Questions about trips abroad sounded much harsher originally," said the MP.

"Davyd [Arakhamia] softened it as much as possible."

Mobilization was also discussed, with Zelenskyy telling his team that he expects them to side with new Armed Forces Commander-in-chief Oleksandr Syrskyi, sources told NV.

The deputies also addressed issues about IDPs, the war, international support, and Russia's actions to undermine the situation in the country.

Another Servant of the People MP declined to share his impressions with NV, though he shared that "the very fact of the meeting is good.”

Arakhamia defined the purpose of the meeting to "synchronize all our efforts and strengthen individual areas of work.”

"There is nothing new in this, we used to hold such strategic sessions every year even before the full-scale invasion,” he added.

“This is a common practice for all large teams.”
