Zelenskyy to take part in G7 summit in Japan online – NSDC

Earlier, NSDC Secretary Oleksiy Danilov told Ukrainian television broadcasters that Zelenskyy would personally attend the G7 summit.

According to Danilov, “very important things” will be approved at the meeting, which is why Zelenskyy’s physical presence is important.

“Who would doubt that our president won’t be there (at the G7 summit in Japan),” he said.

“We were sure that our president is where the country needs him to be, in any part of the world, to solve the issue of our country’s stability.”

Earlier, the Bloomberg news agency reported that Zelenskyy would personally fly to Japan for the G7 summit. Also, according to the agency, he will first visit the 2023 Arab League summit in Saudi Arabia, to be held on May 19.

The summit of the G7 countries – the United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, France, the United States, and Japan – will be held in Hiroshima, Japan, on May 19-21, 2023.

The leaders are expected to discuss further actions in response to Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, including new sanctions.

According to Bloomberg, they may also agree on joint work to track imports of Russian diamonds. At the same time, they will not impose a full ban on them.

During May 13-15, Zelenskyy visited Italy, Germany, France, and the United Kingdom, whose leaders vowed to provide Ukraine with new weapons.
