President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had an audience with King Philippe I of Belgium on Thursday, 9 February.

Details: Zelenskyy was joined at the meeting by Alexander De Croo, the Prime Minister of Belgium.

"President Volodymyr Zelenskyy handed over a fragment of a Russian Su-25 aircraft, which had been shot down in Ukraine. Ukrainian pilots had inscribed the words 'Together we will win' on it," the press service for the Belgian Monarchy reported.

Background: On Wednesday, 8 February, President Zelenskyy visited Buckingham Palace, where he had an audience with British monarch King Charles III.

Zelenskyy spent Thursday, 9 February in Brussels, where he took part in the European Union summit. Zelenskyy called on the EU countries to implement sanctions against the Russian nuclear industry, as well as manufacturers of missiles and drones. He said he hoped negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU can begin this year.
