Zelenskyy responds to petition to legalize porn in Ukraine

In particular, Zelenskyy forwarded the relevant issue to the Cabinet of Ministers, as reported on the president’s website.

The Ukrainian president reiterated that the Constitution of Ukraine guarantees the right to freedom of thought, speech and free expression of views and beliefs.

He also referred to the Law on the Protection of Public Morals, saying that the implementation of state policy in the field of protection of public morals and the circulation of products and entertainment of a sexual nature is ensured by the Cabinet of Ministers.

“Taking into account the above, I turned to Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal with a request to process the issue raised in the electronic petition in accordance with his competence and to inform the author of the appeal about the results of the consideration,” reads Zelenskyy’s response.

The relevant petition was registered on July 4.

The appeal itself states that “most developed countries do not have bans on pornographic activities.”
