Zelenskyy says Russia wants to oust him from office by end of 2023 in ‘Maidan-3’ plot

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said to have been the target of several Russian assassination attempts, has said Russia "still wants very much" to remove him from office by the end of 2023.

Zelenskyy said in an interview with UK tabloid newspaper the Sun on Nov. 20 that he even knows the Russian code name for the operation to topple him from power.

"The name of operation is Maidan 3," Zelenskyy told The Sun.

“It’s meant to change the president. It’s bye-bye. Maybe it’s not by killing. I mean it’s changing. They will use any instruments they have.”

Moscow aims to realize its intentions by the end of this year, Zelenskyy said. At the same time, because Kyiv already knows about Moscow’s plan, "we can live with it," the president said.

Earlier, the president spoke about Russia's preparation of a campaign to destabilize the situation inside Ukraine and plans to create "chaos." Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry’s Main Intelligence Directorate or HUR has declared that a Russian information attack is already underway, with the aim of destabilizing the country.

"This is not a single topic, it is a parallel intensification of a number of conflict events inside the country," HUR spokesman Andriy Yusov told NV.

“This is an increase in internal disagreements using traditional Russian and propaganda narratives,” Yusov said.

“We see that lately Russian propaganda has been paying a lot of attention to internal political events, in particular, to internal Ukrainian political events.”
