Zendaya Brings Poison Ivy Beauty Inspiration to the Emmys Red Carpet

Is Zendaya nodding at a future role with her Poison Ivy-infused beauty references, or is she simply feeling the ’90s hair hue? At tonight’s 71st Emmy Awards ceremony, the Euphoria actress inspired the question, stepping onto the red carpet in cascading auburn waves and an emerald corseted gown that cut to the hip for a leg reveal worthy of a superhero. Before her arrival as a presenter for Best Director in a Limited Series or Movie, she teased the flame-colored dye job in her Instagram stories when she posted a cagey close-up of her tumbling garnet barrel curls—with no further explanation. Down the path of social media’s trail of breadcrumbs, hairstylist Ursula Stephen publicized the process of prepping Zendaya’s look, from a GHD-powered blowout to smoothing pinned-up curls behind the actress’s ear with a dressing brush as they cooled.
The deep jade satin number that played up Zendaya’s latest dye job was yet another collaboration with her right hand man, stylist Law Roach. In his own Instagram stories today, Roach posted back-to-back images of the DC Comics character Poison Ivy with interpretations including a cartoon adaptation and an image of Uma Thurman posing in costume (and similarly electric ruby lengths) from the 1997 Batman and Robin film. It’s yet another addition to the fashion characters that Roach and Zendaya have been creating together since 2011. Whether a glowing Cinderella at the Met Gala (with Roach posing as fairy godmother) or her recent Spiderman-inspired sequined cutaway gown that she referred to as “spidey suit,” the pair continues to inject a sense of humor into their head-to-toe beauty moments.

The first electric vehicle I ever drove was a Tesla Roadster in 2011. It was with great anticipation that I slid behind the wheel of the 2025 Acura ZDX Type S. Sure, it's a midsize SUV, but it wears the Type S moniker, a name reserved only for the most fun-to-drive in the Acura stable. On launch, the ZDX will be available in A-Spec and Type S trims -- both of which come equipped with a 102 kWh battery.
