Zendaya Puts a Summer Spin on the Dress Over Pants Look

The dress over pants trend has been taking over lately. Ignited first on the Fall runways at labels such as Loewe to Victoria Beckham, that layered-up look has since found its way to the street style circuit and onto the likes of Rihanna and Bella Hadid. But leave it to Zendaya to do it in an entirely new way that’s perfectly appropriate for summertime.

The actress was seen in Manhattan this morning en route to her appearance on Good Morning America—she's promoting her new HBO show, Euphoria—dressed in a two-piece ensemble by Peter Do, an emerging designer who cut his teeth at Celine and Derek Lam before launching his namesake last year. With a focus on tailoring, Do takes cues from menswear and reinterprets them with a feminine line. His dress-over-pants look comes in a lightweight, translucent fabric that feels right for the season.

Zendaya managed to bring a touch of sexiness to the covered-up ensemble, allowing her black bra to peek through underneath. It’s a 2000s-inspired aesthetic that Gigi Hadid has embraced recently as well. The actress then further accessorized the outfit with sleek black pointed pumps and gold hoops.
