Zendaya has unfollowed everyone on her Instagram – including her boyfriend, fellow actor Tom Holland.

It's probably nothing personal, as her following count currently sits at zero, with not even the Spider-Man star escaping the social media purge.

The reason for Zendaya's unfollow spree isn't yet known, but it doesn't seem like the actress is taking a social media break entirely, as she recently posted on Instagram about her upcoming film project.

She unveiled the poster for tennis movie Challengers, which she stars in alongside The Crown's Josh O'Connor and West Side Story's Mike Faist.

Her caption simply read: "Challengers April 26… Wishing you all the most beautiful new year."

In Challengers, the actress plays tennis star turned coach Tashi Duncan, who finds herself in a love triangle with her husband (Faist) and her ex-boyfriend (O'Connor), with the pair facing off both on and off the court.

The trailer teases a sensual scene between the three characters, and Zendaya explained in an interview with Elle how her first "leading lady" role could mark a new stage of her career.

"I feel like it was a good step into a more, I guess you could say, 'grown-up' role and into that next phase," she said. "It was a little bit scary to take on, which I think is a good feeling. To be like: 'Ooh, can I do this?' You could run from that feeling and stay safe and comfortable, or you can go: 'You know what, f**k it'."

Zendaya has also previously spoken about striving to keep aspects of her life private, including her relationship.

"Parts of my life, I accept, are going to be public. I can't not be a person and live my life and love the person I love. But also, I do have control over what I choose to share. It's about protecting the peace and letting things be your own but also not being afraid to exist. You can't hide. That's not fun, either. I am navigating it more than ever now."

Challengers is released in the UK on April 26.
