Things are a little quieter on the beach nightlife scene now that St. Patrick’s Day is in the rear-view mirror — but not for long. A growing number of upcoming concert events are being announced, and tickets are already selling like hotcakes.

In Selbyville, the seasonal Freeman Arts Pavilion surprised music fans this week by adding a slew of additions to its outdoor music roster. An initial announcement last month consisted of 19 concerts, three of which (Styx, Lady A and Darius Rucker) sold out almost immediately.

Freeman tickets will go on sale Thursday, March 23, for summer shows including Ziggy Marley, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and Marcus King. Friday, March 24, will see tickets going on sale for appearances by Cheap Trick, Train, the Steve Miller Band, Counting Crows with Dashboard Confessional and more.

In Ocean City, the organizers of OC Bikefest have added performers to their annual shoulder season gathering at the Inlet. Hard-rock headliner Shinedown will perform Friday, Sept. 15, following an opening set by the flamboyant British quartet The Struts.

A pair of Rock ’n’ Roll Hall of Fame inductees, ZZ Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd, will perform Saturday, Sept. 16. Ticket packages run from $75 to $175 (with pricier VIP options also available).

Of course the Ocean City Inlet will also be the site of the 2023 edition of the Oceans Calling music festival Friday, Sept. 29, through Sunday, Oct. 1. Tickets went on sale last week and three-day packages sold out quickly; single-day general admission tickets remain. Music fans from far and wide have also reserved hotel rooms for that weekend already.

Alanis Morrisette and Jack Johnson co-headline Friday; singer-guitarist John Mayer tops the bill Saturday; and The Lumineers will end the day Sunday. The mega-event, which was rained out last year, will include dozens of bands and thousands of spectators.

In Dewey Beach, the Bottle & Cork nightclub has already sold out summer concerts by Ashley McBryde, Mr. Greengenes and Warren Zeider. Country star Justin Moore will play Thursday and Friday, June 29-30; his Friday show is sold out, but tickets remain for Thursday.

Newly-announced shows will feature Morgan Wade, KIX, the Bacon Brothers, Badfish and more.

In the more immediate future, tickets have sold out for this weekend’s 11th annual Brewgrass hootenanny at Fager’s Island in Ocean City, which will occur from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 25. Two bands are performing this year — The Dirty Grass Players and The Stringbuzzards.

Fager’s does, however, still have tickets available for next month’s 5th annual Wine Fest ($75). There will be samplings of a dozen wines, plus craft beers, oysters and more from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 22. Classic-rock act 8-Trax will perform throughout the afternoon.

In downtown OC, the Crawl Street Tavern will host a local comedy showcase at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 24. Get ready to laugh when host Stevie Jay welcomes Tyler Dark, Daniel MacFarland Jr. and Keith Purnell ($15).
