‘Zombie Detective’ star Jung Chae-yul dies at 26

South Korean actor and model Jung Chae-yul has died at the age of 26.

According to Star News, the actor was found in her home on Tuesday. No further details on the cause of death were reported at the time.

Jung's agency, Management S, released a statement following her passing.

"We are here to deliver heartbreaking news. Actress Chaeyul has left us," the company said in a statement. "Her funeral will be held privately in accordance to the wishes of her family, who must be in greater sadness than anyone else. We hope you pray for the deceased so Chaeyul, who was also sincere in her acting, may rest in peace."

Agency CEO Lee Soo Haeng added, "Our Chae Yul was very hardworking. They were a deep-hearted and cool friend. In my opinion, it is hard to describe in words how amazing they were as an actor."

Jung made her debut TV appearance in the 2016 series “Devil's Runway.”

She was best known for the 2018 film “Deep” and the 2022 K-dramas “Zombie Detective” and “I Have Not Done My Best Yet.”

Prior to her death, she was reportedly in the midst of filming for the upcoming drama “Wedding Impossible.”
