Which Greater Cincinnati baseball players had top performances last week?

It was a banner week for the Norwood baseball team.

On April 26, junior Murphy Peter threw a seven-inning no-hitter with seven strikeouts in a 4-3 win over Goshen. The next day, Murphy's cousin, Ryan Peter, tossed a five-inning no-no with 11 strikeouts in a win over North College Hill. Lastly, junior Dillon Cole added a no-hitter the following day, blanking Hughes over five innings with a dozen strikeouts in an 11-0 win over the Big Red.

Patrick Villamagna, La Salle

Locked in a pitchers' duel May 4, the junior fired a complete-game shutout, yielding just three hits, to lead the Lancers to a 1-0 win over Greater Catholic League-South rival St. Xavier.

Justin Hoevel, Badin

The junior notched his first complete-game shutout of the season May 4, finishing with a two-hit shutout and just one walk in Badin's 4-0 victory over Kettering Alter.

The senior has allowed just one earned run over his last five appearances. In his last two starts, Shockley twirled a complete-game two-hit shutout in an 8-0 win over Wilmington April 29 and fired 6 ⅓ innings of three-hit shutout ball in a 7-0 win over Goshen May 4.

Logan Vogelgesang, Harrison

The senior was efficient in his last two starts. On April 26, he gave up just three hits and three unearned runs over six innings, striking out eight, in a 3-0 loss to Talawanda. In his next outing May 2, Vogelgesang gave up one earned run over seven innings with nine strikeouts in a 4-1 win over Ross.

The junior has won her last five starts to improve to 10-4 on the season. In wins over Madeira April 29 and Finneytown May 2, Barth gave up just three earned runs over 11 innings with 11 strikeouts.

Maddie Summers, Little Miami

The senior tossed eight shutout, hitless innings in her last two outings, including a five-inning no-hitter with nine strikeouts in a 10-0 victory over Turpin May 2.

Alisha Fox, Mason

Between April 27-29, Fox made three appearances and won both of her starts. The freshman combined to strikeout 16 over 13 shutout innings, picking up victories over Princeton April 27 and Lebanon April 30.
