Zooey Deschanel, Jonathan Scott engaged after 4 years together

Zooey Deschanel and Jonathan Scott are taking the next step in their relationship, with a trip down the aisle.

The “New Girl” star, 43, and titular “Property Brothers” star, 45, took to Instagram with a joint post to announce their engagement Monday.

“Forever starts now!!! 🥰♾️🥰” the couple captioned a selfie of themselves beaming as the Deschanel shows off her ring in front of a castle in Scotland, from which Scott’s dad previously emigrated.

Her daughter Elsie, 6, and son Charlie, 6, also took part in the proposal, People reports.

Several celebrities, including Scott’s twin brother and co-star Drew, took to the comments to congratulate the soon-to-be husband and wife.

Deschanel’s “New Girl” co-star Jake Johnson, as well as Mindy Kaling, Kat Dennings, Bryce Dallas Howard and Billy Eichner were among the other famous names to offer their well wishes.

The happy couple met filming an August 2019 episode of “Carpool Karaoke,” confirmed their relationship the following month and went Instagram official that October. They returned to “Carpool Karaoke” last year.

This won’t be the first trip down the aisle for Deschanel or Scott. Deschanel shares her kids with ex Jacob Pechenik, from whom she divorced in 2020. She was married to Ben Gibbard, of Death Cab for Cutie and The Postal Service fame, from 2009 to 2012.

Scott, for his part, was married to flight coordinator Kelsy Ully from 2007 to 2010, and has no kids of his own.
