Zooey Deschanel Is Unrecognizable in New Photos as She Debuts Blonde Hair

Who's that girl? It's Zooey Deschanel, but she looks completely different!

The New Girl actress recently posted two Instagram photos that shocked fans. In each of the selfies, Zooey's long brown locks are gone, and instead, she's rocking a blonde, Farrah Fawcett hair 'do.

And while some fans were taken aback by the look, most were all for this change, with many even saying how much it reminded them of Elf, which starred Zooey with blonde hair. "She's mother," one person wrote, which is a slang phrase for an iconic female figure. "Too beautiful 🔥🔥🔥," said another. "OBSESSED 🔥🔥🔥🔥," someone else wrote.

But don't get too attached to her new look. We assume it's only a wig for her new role in Apple+'s Physical. The show, which stars Rose Byrne, takes place in 1980s San Diego. In it, the main character finds reprieve (and drama) through aerobics. Zooey is joining the third season as Kelly, who Variety notes is "a former sitcom star who jumps into the burgeoning fitness industry." So that explains her hairstyle, as well as the neon blue top and silver pants she's wearing.

Season 3 of Physical is set to premiere on August 2. However, it seems like the third season will be its last, similar to what we've seen with Ted Lasso.
