Olympic champion Alexander Zverev and Australian Open finalist Daniil Medvedev will join Spanish superstar Carlos Alcaraz on captain Bjorn Borg’s Team Europe at this year’s Laver Cup in Berlin from September 20-22, organizers said on Thursday.

Borg has vowed to take back the trophy from defending champions Team World, captained by his long-time rival, John McEnroe.

“Team Europe is super motivated to win back the Cup in Berlin. I think we have an excellent chance of making that happen,” Borg said.

Both Medvedev and Zverev are Laver Cup champions, while Alcaraz will be making his debut in Berlin.

"I’m so excited about returning to Laver Cup. The atmosphere is always electric and for the Laver Cup to be at home in Germany, for me in particular, is going to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience," Zverev said.

Each team has six players. Team World will attempt to win the Laver Cup for the third year in a row but hasn't announced any member of its line-up so far.
