Two Florida stops for ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd tour
In all, the bands announced 36 more concerts for the joint tour. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 3. Presales start at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31.
The tour has two new Florida stops: Hertz Arena (March 9) and Tallahassee's Tucker Civic Center (April 5). Black Stone Cherry opens both shows.
ZZ Top last played Southwest Florida in November 2021 (Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall), followed by Lynyrd Skynyrd in December 2022 (Hertz Arena).
Before Skynyrd's Hurricane Ian fundraiser show, Fort Myers guitarist Rickey Medlocke talked to The News-Press/Naples Daily News about the band's upcoming 50th anniversary tour.
"I swear, it seems like 50 seconds," Medlocke said about that big anniversary. "I started as an original drummer of the band. And you know what, now I’ve been back with them for 27 years. …
"So I look at it and I feel very blessed and very fortunate to have been a part of such a great band that has a part in the history of great music. And that music will be around a lot longer after I’m gone, that’s for sure."
