Romney video highlights closed plant Obama visited to tout stimulus

As President Obama heads to Pennsylvania today to raise cash for his re-election effort, Mitt Romney will make his own appearance in the state, where he'll slam the president over his handling of the economy.

The former Massachusetts governor will speak to reporters outside Allentown Metal Works, a factory Obama visited in 2009 to tout the success of his economic stimulus package. But the factory, hobbled by debt, ultimately closed in January.

The factory is the subject of a new web video the Romney campaign released Thursday detailing Pennsylvania's high unemployment numbers and accusing Obama of failing to address the nation's economic woes.

"Over 100,000 Pennsylvania jobs lost since President Obama took office," the ad declares. "Obama isn't working."

The message reflects Romney's early 2012 strategy of largely ignoring his GOP rivals in favor of focusing exclusively on Obama.

The president will be in Philadelphia this afternoon, where he'll attend two fundraisers to benefit his campaign and the Democratic National Committee.
