What to watch for Monday in politics

Monday is the last full day of campaigning before voters in 10 states make a decision on whether they want Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich or Ron Paul to run against Barack Obama.

Romney's win in Washington on Saturday gives him extra momentum heading into the final hours before Super Tuesday and the 419 delegates that are on the line. He will spend the day focused on Ohio. He starts with a meet-and-greet at 8:25 a.m EST in Canton, next comes a town hall at 12:05 p.m. EST in Youngstown, and then there's a rally at 6:30 p.m. EST in Zanesville.

Romney will have company in Ohio. Santorum is betting big on the Buckeye State, and he starts the day with a 9:30 a.m. EST rally in Miamisburg and wraps up the day with a 6:30 p.m. EST rally in Cuyahoga Falls.

Newt Gingrich, who has based his strategy on a strong showing Tuesday, will spend Monday in Tennessee. He has a speech at 1 p.m. EST in Kingsport, a rally with his wife, Callista, at 4 p.m. EST in Alcoa, and another rally at 7 p.m. EST in Chattanooga.

Ron Paul will spend Monday out west in Idaho. He has town hall meetings at 12 p.m. MST in Sandpoint, in Moscow at 3 p.m. MST and in Idaho Falls at 7 p.m. MST.

Back in Washington, President Obama meets with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at 10:45 a.m. EST. Their talks are certain to focus on the Iranian nuclear program and the Middle East peace process.

And then there is this: On this day in 1770, civilians and British soldiers clashed in what would become known as the Boston Massacre.
