What to watch for this weekend in politics

Except for the Washington state caucuses on Saturday, the main focus this weekend is the final push before the 10-state Super Tuesday showdown.

Mitt Romney will be in Ohio on Friday and Saturday. His schedule includes a rally with N.J. Gov. Chris Christie in Cleveland at 6:30 p.m. ET Friday, and that's followed by a 9 a.m. ET Saturday stop in Wilmington and then a town hall at 2:30 p.m. ET in Dayton, also on Saturday.

Rick Santorum is focusing on Ohio, too. On Friday, he has a 1 p.m. EST stop in Chillicothe and then 7 p.m. EST event in Willoughby. He'll also be a guest on WLW Radio with Bill Cunningham in Cincinnati at 12 p.m. EST. And he'll still be in the state on Saturday with three stops.

Newt Gingrich spends another day Friday in his home state of Georgia. He will be in Savannah at 9:30 a.m. EST, Brunswick at 2:30 p.m. EST and Columbus at 6 p.m. EST. And on Sunday, he's scheduled to be on ABC's "This Week," CBS' "Face the Nation" and NBC's "Meet the Press." Herman Cain will be campaigning for him in Tennessee this weekend.

Ron Paul will be campaigning in Washington state Friday and looking for his first victory in the 2012 race in Saturday's caucuses. He speaks at town hall meetings in Spokane at 12 p.m. PST and in Ridgefield at 4 p.m. PST.

Back in the nation's capital on Sunday, President Obama addresses the American Israel Public Affairs Committee Policy Conference. Other speakers at the three-day, annual gathering of the pro-Israel community include Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, President Shimon Peres, Romney, Gingrich and Santorum.

And then there is this: If you're into celebrating politicians' birthdays, then you can celebrate Ken Salazar's. The secretary of the interior and former Colorado senator turns 57 Friday.
