  • Teen in critical condition after car surfing in Fort Worth 56 minutes ago

    A 17-year-old was critically injured this evening after he was car surfing in southwest Fort Worth, authorities said. The boy was standing on top of a vehicle in the 1900 block of Arborwood Trail when he fell off about 5 p.m. Tuesday, said Lt. Paul Henderson, a Fort Worth police spokesman.

  • Teenager accused of bringing homemade firework to Plano school 1 hour, 56 minutes ago

    A suspicious object found in a locker at Jasper High School in Plano today turned out to be a homemade firework, police said. Plano police were called to the school in the 6800 block of Archgate Drive about 1 p.m. They questioned a 14-year-old boy identified as the owner.

    Arlington school officials today are warning parents about a man who fondled a 10-year-old girl at a bus stop as she waited to go to school.

  • New giraffe arrives at Dallas Zoo 2 hours, 56 minutes ago

    It was a long haul for the Dallas Zoo’s newest arrival. Jade, a 10-foot, 900 pound female giraffe, rolled up to the gates of the zoo at 11 a.m. today in an expanded horse trailer with plenty of head room.

  • New Mexico authorities arrest man accused of 2001 slaying in Ellis County Tue Oct 7 4:32pm EDT

    The Ellis County Sheriff’s Department is seeking the extradition of a suspect in a July 2001 slaying who was captured in New Mexico last week. Martin Marmolejo Romo, 28, of Mexico was arrested near the border in New Mexico.
