An event celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States is planned for next year in Cincinnati.

America's River Roots, a musical and cultural celebration, will take place in Cincinnati on the Ohio River in October 2025. The event is one of several festivities expected across the nation, leading up to America's official quarter-millennial on July 4, 2026.

Organizers will announce more details about America's River Roots at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine and Kentucky Lt. Gov. Jacqueline Coleman, both appearing virtually; Mayor Aftab Pureval; Hamilton County Commissioner Alicia Reece and more will make remarks.
