NEED TO KNOW
Trump’s immunity denied
A U.S. appeals court ruled unanimously that Donald Trump isn’t immune from prosecution for his efforts to overturn the 2020 election.
The ruling: The panel said it couldn’t accept “that the office of the presidency places its former occupants above the law for all time thereafter.” [New York Times]
What’s next: Trump has until Feb. 12 to appeal to the Supreme Court, which could pause the ruling. He could also ask the full appellate court to rehear the case, but trial proceedings would resume unless the court takes up the issue. [GMA]

3 QUESTIONS
...about Season 3 of Abbott Elementary
My Yahoo News colleague Kelsey Weekman discusses what to know ahead of Abbott Elementary’s highly anticipated return tonight.
Lily: Refresh me, where did we leave off with Season 2?
Kelsey: The scrappy and lovable teachers of Abbott Elementary defeated a threat from a local charter school, and Greg and Janine’s will-they-or-won’t-they romance heated up.
Lily: What should we expect in Season 3?
Kelsey: A new school year brings new challenges! Ava, the school’s laughably incompetent principal, is cracking down on the teachers.
Lily: Is Season 3 worth watching?
Kelsey: Definitely. The show has racked up Emmys and Golden Globes over the years, and its momentum is at its peak. You’ll want to be a part of the fandom.

Have a stellar day. See you tomorrow!
💡 P.S. Before you go, your daily advice: Some people are getting raises this time of year. If you’re one of them, consider using 5% of it to treat yourself, then use the rest to pay off debts. [AP]
