Canadian rock & roll legend Bryan Adams didn’t miss a beat after a fan rushed the stage in a recent attempt to belt out one of the singer’s classic hits.

Footage is circulating on social media from the July 7 concert in Salt Lake City, Utah, which shows an excited fan running on stage and grabbing the mic just as Adams is about to launch into his song “Summer of ‘69.”

The overzealous fan, who’s dressed in black ripped jeans and a white T-shirt, grabs the mic and manages to sing out a few lyrics from the song's opening verse — "bought it at the five and dime."

A bewildered Adams takes a few steps back with his guitar. Before the fan can take the song any further, four security guards in red T-shirts and black pants swoop on stage, and two of them carry the man away. The audience keeps singing along and after the fan is out of sight, Adams steps back to the mic and continues singing the following lyrics, without missing a beat.

The impressively timed moment, which only lasts a few seconds, led the hashtag #BryanAdams to trend on Twitter in Canada on Thursday.

Many on social media commended Adams for his professionalism, while others were critical of the security.

Adams is currently touring North America. He’s scheduled to touch down in Canada with a slew of dates throughout B.C. and Alberta, starting in Victoria, B.C. on Sept. 9 and ending in Medicine Hat, Alberta, on Sept. 17.

In recent weeks, incidents of fans misbehaving at concerts have made headlines. In June, pop star Bebe Rexha had to end a New York City event after a fan threw a phone at her face, requiring her to get stitches. Singer Ava Max was slapped in the face by a fan who rushed the stage during an L.A. show. Earlier this month, a fan tossed a sex toy at Lil Nas X while he was performing in Sweden. On Saturday night, a fan threw an object at Harry Styles’ face while he was in concert in Vienna.
