Bucks County offers free marriage, vow renewal services to couples on Valentine's Day

February brings Valentine's Day, and Bucks County is doing its part to set the romantic tone for couples bound headed to the alter.

Bucks County Register of Wills and Clerk of Orphans’ Court will host the third annual "Vows and Valentines" wedding ceremony and vow renewal service on Wednesday, Feb. 14.

The county will perform the wedding ceremonies and vow renewal services free for registered couples.

And to add just an extra touch of pomp to the ceremony, the county will also provide bridal flowers, boutonnieres, a photographer, a videographer, live music, and a catered lunch.

Each couple is allowed to bring two guests.

How to sign up for the 'Vows and Valentines' program in Bucks County

Couples need to send an email to emarriage@buckscounty.org, and then begin a marriage license application.

Bucks County marriage applications can be started and submitted online.

To participate in the wedding ceremony, couples also need to submit a short, paragraph-long bio by Wednesday, Jan. 31, and will need to obtain their marriage license by Wednesday, Feb. 7.

The program will begin at noon on Valentine's Day, and will be held on the third floor of the Bucks County Administration Building, 55 East Court Street in Doylestown.

About the 'Vows and Valentines' program

Vows and Valentines is part of the Bucks County Clerk of Orphans’ Court’s Weddings for Heroes program, and will be the seventh such wedding overall.

Over the years, the county has sponsored several annual wedding ceremonies and vow renewal programs, oftentimes focusing on veterans and their spouses.

How you can support the 'Weddings for Heroes' program

According to Bucks County administrators, the Weddings for Heroes program is funded solely by donations from individuals and local businesses, many of which offer their professional services either free or at a discounted rate.
