BWL restores power to most customers after outage in Lansing, East Lansing

LANSING — The Lansing Board of Water & Light restored power to most of about 1,600 customers Friday who earlier in the day lost electricity.

BWL's outage map showed 1,672 customers in Lansing and East Lansing were without electrical service at about 1:30 p.m. The map showed restoration estimates ranging from 4:45 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. By 8 p.m. three customers remained without power.

A cable fault was the cause, said Alaina Schrauben, a spokesperson for BWL. Customers can check the utility's outage map for updates, Schrauben said.
