FHP: Morriston woman, 74, hit and killed while on bicycle in Levy County

A Morriston woman was hit by a truck and killed Tuesday morning while riding a bicycle in Levy County, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

Where did the crash occur?

Southeast County Road 326, east of Wolf Arbor Road.

What led to the crash?

According to the FHP report, the 74-year-old Morriston woman was on a bicycle traveling east on County Road 326. The driver of a pickup truck, a 92-year-old Gulf Hammock man, failed to see the woman and the front right of the truck hit the back of the bicycle. The woman was ejected from the bicycle onto the grass shoulder, where she was pronounced dead.

The driver of the truck and his passenger, a 67-year-old Gulf Hammock woman, were not injured.
