FHP: Woman dies after walking in front of van on US Highway 98 in Santa Rosa County
A woman from Boise, Idaho, died Friday night after walking directly in front a van in Santa Rosa County, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.
The Florida Highway Patrol says a woman driving a van was traveling eastbound on U.S. Highway 98, while a 34-year-old woman was walking on the north shoulder.
As the pedestrian was walking on the shoulder, she then attempted to cross the road and "walked into the roadway directly into the path of" the van.
FHP's report says the vehicle and pedestrian both came to rest on the south shoulder of the highway.
