A former Rapides Parish Sheriff's deputy pleaded guilty Monday to a felony charge of malfeasance in office.

The trial for Christopher Hall, 24, was to be held this week, according to online Rapides Parish Clerk of Court records.

He was arrested and fired in January 2022 for bringing contraband into the Rapides Parish Detention Center #3 on John Allison Drive, off Coliseum Boulevard.

A complaint on the day of Hall's arrest about contraband coming into the prison. He was arrested during a traffic stop after a search warrant was executed at his Pineville home.

Hall's sentencing was deferred to Feb. 14.
