EVANSVILLE — To safely enjoy the solar eclipse April 8, you'll need to wear special glasses.

Totality begins 2:02 p.m. and will last until 2:05 p.m. in Evansville. The city is expecting an influx of visitors and there are many events planned for the day (and in the weeks before).

Here are a few places in Evansville to find glasses.

Nick Nackery, 201 E. Virginia St.

Nick Nackery is selling solar eclipse glasses for $4.99.

Glasses can be purchased in-person at the store or online at their website. Store hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday.

Explore Evansville - 20 NW Third St., Suite 410

Explore Evansville has glasses avilable for $2. Call the office at 812-421-2200 to secure a pair.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Evansville Museum of Arts, History and Science - 411 SE Riverside Drive

The Evansville Museum has eclipse glasses for $3 in the gift shop.

The museum is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday-Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. on Sundays.

Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library locations

While supplies last, EVPL cardholders can get a free pair of eclipse glasses at any location.

Accounts must be in good standing, not expired, and without fees.
